“Without the help of Curves, I believe I would have
remained
miserable with myself. I have found a part of myself that I had
been missing
for more than half of my lifetime.”
|
 BEFORE |
 AFTER |
| When Patti Collins’ doctor told her 16 months ago
that
her weight had triggered diabetes, she joined Curves and attended
the Permanent
Results Without Permanent Dieting weight-loss class. Besides
stopping the
diabetes in its tracks, “I found out who I was at Curves,” says
the now-svelte Texan. “I found out that I’m strong,
self-controlled,
not afraid to try new things, and not afraid to stand up for what
I believe
in. I also lost 102 pounds,” she chuckles. “But that was just
and added benefit.” |

“The overwhelming feeling of achievement was
astonishing.
I felt like Cinderella must have felt at her
ball.”
|

BEFORE |

AFTER |
| After walking out on an office Christmas
dinner because, at
366 pounds, she couldn’t fit behind the table, a
determined
Debbie Bishop-Lane walked into her local Curves, which
she had joined
a month before. A year later, she was 179 pounds lighter.
And as
she dressed for that year’s Christmas party, her youngest
daughter put her arms around her mom, told her how much
she loved
her, and how beautiful she was. “The overwhelming feeling
of achievement was astonishing,” Debbie says. “I felt
like Cinderella must have felt at her ball.” |

Tracey Toltl
Pounds Lost: 101
Inches Lost: 88
Dress Sizes Lost: 16
“There isn’t anything I won’t try now. I have
taken up swimming and dance aerobics on the days I don’t go to
Curves.
And on a recent trip to Mexico, I went parasailing for the
first time.
I never would have believed it possible a year
ago.”
|

BEFORE |

AFTER |
| Tracey Toltl didn’t like the woman who stared back
at
her from the mirror each day, so much so that she eventually
stopped looking.
Her mother struggled with diabetes, high blood pressure, and
more, and Tracey
knew she was headed in the same direction unless she took control
of her
health. That, and Curves’ TV commercial, motivated her to join.
Before
long, she was happy to see herself not only reflected in the
mirror but
also in the eyes of others. |

Andrea Evans
Pounds Lost: 21
Inches Lost: 28
Dress Sizes Lost: 3
“Thanks to Curves, I’m less self-conscious.
I never imagined I’d be back in a size 8! I went on a
cruise
recently and wore a bikini—something I never, ever
thought
I would do.”
|

BEFORE |

AFTER |
| Like everyone in her family, paralegal Andrea
Evans has long
battled weight. But as an avid soccer player and skier, she
fought
back gamely until recently, when sports injuries took a
devastating
toll on her knees, leading to severe arthritis. Sidelined,
Andrea
became increasingly overweight and depressed. Her boss
kindly insisted
that Andrea check out Curves, where she was a member. How
do you say
no to your boss? Apparently, you don’t, if you know what’s
good for you. For Andrea, it doesn’t get much better than
Curves. |

Judy Cohoon
Pounds Lost: 74 1/2
Inches Lost: 74
Dress Sizes Lost: 8
“There are six of us who carpool to Curves
every
morning. They call us the ‘Ya-Yas’—when we come
in we liven things up. We give each other support; the
staff gives
us support. Curves has given me a real sense of
community.”
|

BEFORE |

AFTER |
| There was a time when Judy Cohoon was a very
active
person, enjoying tennis, biking, aerobics, and more. But
three surgeries
in one year sidelined her at age 47, and the only thing
that remained
healthy was her appetite. No longer able to exercise, she
had resigned
herself to being overweight. Then Judy learned a fun
30-minute workout
program at a place called Curves, which was coming to her
area. She
kept checking, waiting for the doors to open. Judy never
imagined
that through those doors was an opportunity for a new
life. |
